Important Changes to Employment Law wef 1 April 2016

March 25, 2016

From 1 April 2016, all employers in Singapore will be required to issue Key Employment Terms and Itemised Payslips to their employees who fall within the ambit of Singapore’s Employment Act. This latest change is part of the continuing effort of the Ministry of Manpower to ensure that employees are better protected, while also balancing this against the buisiness considerations of employers.

Itemised Payslips

The itemised payslips should contain the following information:

  1. Name of employer
  2. Name of employee
  3. Date(s) of payment
  4. Mode of payment
  5. Start and end date of each salary period within the month
  6. Basic salary for each salary period
  7. Allowances paid for each salary period
  8. Any other additional payment for each salary period
  9. Start and end dates of each overtime payment period within the month
  10. Overtime hours worked
  11. Overtime pay for each overtime period
  12. Actual deductions made for each salary period
  13. Net salary paid in the month
  14. Employer’s CPF contribution
  15. Employee’s CPF contribution

We will deal with what needs to be included in to the Key Employment Terms in our next post in this series.
